Free in her season
A promiscuous lover
We each have our turn
Generous to some
Doling out liberation
Moisture for their yield
When she comes too late
We lay victims in her wake
Floods on parched land
Bloody waters run
Where umbrellas are raised
A reign over rain
We pray on this day
For equal distribution
Of similar rain
Let Freedom reign
Showering abundantly
On us equally
Nice one , Chev 🙂

Great! I won’t abandon my playfulness but I’m not oblivious to the serious challenges we contend with in our societies. Sometimes freedom is not just political or economic freedom, it’s also about how we free ourselves. Have a lovely day Sweetheart💞

Free ourselves …how true ! From the chains we choose to wear sometimes , from narrow walls that we confine ourselves within ..how true ! I loved that thought , Chev !

Thank you very much Shweta. You are most welcome. I must make time to visit your blog after a short break. I noticed that you’ve been to Gstaad – would love to read more about your experience. In the meanwhile, do enjoy your day! Best. chevvy

Amen, Chevvy. From every mountainside, let freedom ring! (Or rain, as the case may be.) Happy 4th! 🙂

How beautifully you’ve mingled the thought of rain and freedom! Yes, freedom should be like that, showering on us equally… Amen… 🙂

I like the line ‘let freedom reign’ and the implied pun: freedom ‘raining’ is also intriguing too!
And thank you for the follow! 🙂
I wonder could I borrow that lovely image please? Quite understand if you say no! :))

Hello Marie. I hope you are doing well. I’ve been very busy over the past week, not much time to blog unfortunately.
Glad you appreciated this poem and its nuances. You are more than welcome to use the image. I got it off the internet. It had no copyright attached.
Btw, the outcome I spoke to you about last week – It all came together yesterday. It’s to do with my work. I’m hoping it’s going to offer exciting opportunities but it will mean that I’ll have less time for blogging😉

I am so happy for you that the outcome was what you wanted Chevvy. Well done! Congratulations!!!!! :)))
Every silver lining has a cloud doesn’t it? lol I hope that we still have our connection even though it will mean you’ll have less time blogging. I’m tempted to say, not to accept the offer and continue blogging as much as possible. NOT REALLY!!!! JOKING!!!!
I’m so over-the-moon for you and am sending you a huge hug. 🙂
