Fresh winds of change

I heard their silence

in the winds of discontent,

echoes joining in

the growing chorus.

Hoarse coughs and splutters,

cleared blocked passages.

Throttled resonance

found strange bedfellows.

Aching moans and groans

rose in harmonious howls.

Dissenting voices

rising in the air,

leaving trails of dust

on the graves of buried bones.

New songs composed

for fresh winds of change.

I heard those voices,

recognizing yours and mine-

no longer silent

in the breaking dawn.

    1. Oh, it’s so good to hear from you Tracy. I’ve had to exercise restraint not to blog but it’s also been a useful break. Still, I’ve missed all of you. I finally got down to listening to that Will Downing CD and have been enjoying it and other music I hadn’t listened to in a while. I look forward to doing the rounds with you soonπŸ˜€

  1. I could almost hear this “silent” concert going on, like the music of the inner self that echoes in your consciousness and only you can hear it. Hope the break from WP was good for you. Your poetry, Sunday evening coming down, and encouraging comments were missed. πŸ™‚

    1. August has been a topsy turvy month for us as a country – even the silence has spoken volumes. Good or bad, I believe history is in the making. The good thing is that citizens are becoming engaged.
I’m happy to be back and easing back in again. Lots of catching up to do! So glad to be chatting with you again Joan and yeah – let’s see what comes down on Sunday πŸ˜€

  2. Yes, I did read the undertones in this and then I scrolled down to your reply to Joan, which explained everything more clearly. What can I say, good luck to you & yours and your part of the world. May better sense prevail!

      1. My GIRL!
I’m so sorry for being all sappy Chevvy! I’m still just beaming to see you back πŸ™‚
        I agree with you here.
In my studies, I have learned that the solution is always present in the problem; though not on the same level of consciousness.
Hopefully, we can all rise up and get to that next level πŸ™‚

      2. Hey Sweetheart, be as sappy as you want, I’m lovin’ it – ha!ha! I’m so glad to see you all over this page! πŸ˜€ Yeah – on your point, experience has taught me that when we are called to lead, we can surprise ourselves and there is a leader lurking in each of us when the going gets tough. The thing is that the winds are blowing across the globe and I’d say we need a collective consciousness with which to respond. I thought I could duck into a quiet corner but it seems not just yet.πŸ˜€
