On wet days like this
Memories flood in
Through the crevices and
Cracks of busy streets,
The ones we travelled
With flashes and beeps.
Caught in peak traffic
Steering dark corners
Behind drizzling mists.
Catching my breath
Remembering your kiss,
How drenched we were.
“Insatiable”, you called me
When you dared me to
Drive though skids and spins.
You egged me on- one last lap
On the highways and byways,
And dangerously slippery streets.
Rainy days will come again
But they will never be the same
Without you.
