New Rain

Soaked by the rain

Of your tantalizing words

Floating in the air

Drenching wet kisses

On my lips, all over me

Your breath in each drop

Little did I know

The rain had become a flood

So strong the allure

Deceptive drizzle

Driven by tumescent winds

Pelting everywhere

The taste of new rain

Freshly fallen, final gush

A verse now complete

Until the next rainโ€ฆ

    1. Hey, I’m a poet, I can imagine the rain. It’s a good metaphor for many things๐Ÿ˜‰ No we don’t have rain in Winter just frost. Yeah – I’ve seen and heard about some really heavy rain in Bangladesh? is it less severe your end?
      I’m reading your rant btw

      1. Yes, I saw that, no wonder your write up. It’s not a safe world is it? I vacillate between my spirit to contribute to change and stop at controlling the things I can. Today is what I call a pyjama day – just want to roll over and go back to sleep ๐Ÿ˜€ Enjoy the rain – I’m sure it’s a relief from the heat.

      2. It was actually a repost of something I’d written after a previous massacre somewhere. I’m losing track, there’s a new incident every other day. I feel sad, angry, helpless…aargh, forget it!
        Pyjama Day sounds nice ๐Ÿ˜Š

      3. I am going with the metaphor , although am not sure the image that these lines conjure in my mind are those that you intended to , but am letting my naughty mind take a few liberties ๐Ÿ™‚

      4. Sweetheart, you just go with the flow wherever the rain takes you. I think the image of the rain falling – especially this one is very appealing. But you would know that I love playing with words. So naturally, you would see the layers and glad you did ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. Tantalizing, drenching, alluring, tumescent… describes the rain and your words. Beautiful. It is raining here this morning, nourishing the flowers we planted yesterday. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you for the visit Joan. Always so delightful to receive your comments. It is always lovely to have rain straight after you’ve planted flowers. We won’t have rain until October but I always think rain helps clear up one’s thinking. Enjoy the rest of your day๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Ok, so I am supposed to be responding to a comment on my blog but I had to read your new posts! How can I help myself?
I really love this one and that is saying something because I don’t typically like rain–but…..this kind of rain—I know a little something about this! LOL!

    Always beautiful, always!

    1. Yes, there’s rain and there’s rain. Babe you can’t help yourself, that’s the point, sometimes a bit of rain is good nurture for the soul! You do know the Georgia Peach is aptly named ha!ha!ha!

    1. Hey Ron, how are you doing? I have a feeling I’ve been neglecting you. Blame it on your Cuz – that girl knows how to monopolise my time – not complaining though, we have heaps of conversations as you no doubt know..
Now I must say that when you isolate that line, I actually didn’t realise how much that line speaks. Heavens, I’m a fallen woman now ๐Ÿ˜€ Yeah – hush my mouth indeed! Glad you liked it all the more. Enjoy the 4th of July tomorrow, sure you earned your stripes,๐Ÿ˜€ Btw a word that rhymes with gush is crush – seen you use that word many times lol!
