The element of chance

There is an element of chance

In craving for that one last dance

The one that thrills anticipation

Yet flutters you with consternation

There is that element of a dream

Where it is not all that it may seem

Wonder consumes reality in its hours

Like heat condensed by a flash of showers

There is an element of magic around

Grace catches you without even a sound

Slowly spirals her sage incense in the air

You’re wise, cleansed, nothing left to fear

There is an element of fire in your eyes

There’ll be no more hesitation and empty sighs

The dawn breaks open sparkling rays of light

Bubbling celebrations will fill the dim of night

The element of chance I found waiting for me

Is the same one I’m hoping will set you free.

Magnolia Bloom

No sign of life, all this time,

your secret– locked inside

your dried and brittle twigs,

grounded in Winter’s chill.

A sudden surprise declaration

of love I’d long forgotten,

you displayed a solitary flower

that caught my full attention.

A herald to the season’s change,

a reawakening of warm feelings

I thought had died, long forgotten!

You had guarded your secret well.

Once again I’m under your spell,

intoxicated by the scented breeze,

infected by your contagious breath

of new love unfurling once again.

Soul cleansing

IMG_5971

Within your swirling splashes,

Your curling whipping lashes,

Your tilting, turning crashes,

I found a riotous serenity.

As you spiraled,sprayed and spun,

Smoldering from a hidden sun,

Whirlpool of clamorous upheaval,

Sparked my misplaced sanity’s retrieval.

Behind these sturdy rocks,

I cleared my mental blocks.

Yet your waters rose again

And swept my debris in the drain.

My mind is now clear and free.

My heart was given a brand new key.

My soul once again restored to me.
