Love’s desolation

A pale moon guards the deserted house jealously.

Snowflakes scatter amongst shadows of skeletal trees,

padding the dim silence of shuttered windows and bolted doors.

Behind the walls, under a solitary desk lamp, tendrils of cigar smoke

curl towards the ceiling from a silhouette behind the desk.

Words fail him again.

Remnants of hidden love lie

Crumpled in the bin.

It is……

It is a place that I had never been

It is a beauty that I had never seen

It is a value that I had never measured

It is a love that I had never treasured

It was the lesson learnt from my teacher

It was to see the full depth of each feature

It was to go back and search from within

It was to start with loving my own skin

It will be with sadness that I must move on

It will be discerning between right and wrong

It will be time to check against my new reflection

It will be time to stop looking for perfection

It is a time for being strong in my transitions

It is  a year to make new binding decisions

It is an awakening from a dream to the real

It is a determining of exactly how I feel

Though the teaching methods were unusual

The student is filled with a sense of renewal

But sometimes the roles were reversed

When the teacher became the student first

The work of a teacher is never done

When one plus one equals one.

When the sun rises

When the sun rises with her new grace

And sends glimmers to light up your face,

May you be peaceful in your repose

Recalling all that none but us knows.

As the arterials flow with your warm blood,

Let sun help your rose form its new bud.

It is your smile that I so sorely miss,

It is the miracle of loving you like this.

Walking the edges of your dark shadows

Between past highs and brand new lows,

Let pendulum retrace its swing back to you,

Stroking your soul to feelings anew.

Should you awake still feeling weary,

Nest in my soft pillows until you can see clearly.

For like a babe suckling on its mother’s breast,

You’ll find true love and soothing soft rest.

Dream sweetly my love, until we again meet

Where I’ll be waiting, open arms to greet.

In pursuit of love

In pursuit of love I tried to run

from the ordinary,

the mundane,

the drab of life’s existence,

dressed in my new clothes.

I saw love lurking in the shadows

furtively blending into the dark.

He moved like a bandit,

crouched like a sly cat

too elusive for me to catch.

Then the madness consumed me,

wanting so badly

for you to love me madly.

Beyond the world of reality,

in quest of the love in my dreams.

There were streets filled with people,

stridently stepping  like me.

Turning dark corners,

ducking through  alleyways,

sniffing for their opiate,

Stealing others’ needles for their dreams.

When I woke up to the ordinary,

I cried into my pillow, disappointed

that this was just a bad dream.

So I take out a clean sheet of paper

and doodle throughout the day.

Maybe tomorrow and the day

after  – I’ll finally find you,

synchronistically searching for me,

The one who is not complete and whole

until he finds the other side of me.

I knew you when…

I knew you when life was innocent

Like a babe in powder puff blankets

When your eyes still held a sparkle

Like the taste of foreign cuisine

Still distinct and experimentally spicy

When flavors were still imagined

I knew you when we were both lost

Entangled in the undergrowth of youth,

Of woven stems and mysterious brush

When we were free to define a new path

Climb the tallest trees seeking adventure

And envision new horizons’ allure

I knew you when you basked in my glory

When I searched the crowd for your face

Because my crown was ours to share

For all the good loving you vested in me

But best of all, it was that mischievous

Smile, dancing on the edge of your laughter

I knew you when we needed each other

To make our two worlds complete

When the universe was our hidden oyster

A brilliant white pearl, only our love’s secret

When the sound of your voice cocooned me

Then set me free to fly to the furthest skies

I knew you when you loved me deeply

Without mountains challenging us steeply

Time has gone by, seasons have changed

And I realize that I need to know you all over again

Spring has its glory and Autumn its own story to tell

Touch to touch

We touched.

Shadowing fingers,

Print traces,

Hidden faces,

Still haunted by the same dream

Of a lover’s touch.

Still longing

For love’s rainy days

With its taste

Consumed in haste

Of wave’s cascading surges

When your mind met mine

And a hostage was taken of time

Two souls falling to rise again

In new incarnations

I feel you still!

Your lips don’t conceal!

Aphrodites’ dream

Night deprives me of sleep

In daring dreams I keep

Reminiscing love’s fervor,

Ecstasy’s culminating murmur.

The first day of spring forever

A day to fondly remember

Moments suspended in time

In christenings deep and sublime

Head bowed down in holy devotions

Performing all rituals and motions

For deliverance of all rites of passage

In honor of love’s divine message

Breathing new fluttering fragrance

Lighting candles with ardent radiance

Two souls unite in sumptuous splendor

Hearts and minds in replete surrender

Lingering soft touches, and kisses

Fulfilling release of silent wishes

When sun’s new dawn arises

Lovers will reveal new disguises

A message from Venus

Venus visited me in a dream

and asked that I deliver you

this message :

return to less turbulent times

where you breathed divine

wisdom and peace with many

who adored you.

accept that disruptive forces

have entered your realm

and delight in the creation

and inspiration this offers

You.

Most of all, love remains

supreme and speak of it

fondly as the Goddess deemed

it should be.

Then she said: keep faith

in the love you have found

do not be distracted by

playfulness, which is part

of love’s charm, but know

that Serendipity has

special plans for you.

Finally she said: Be careful

Of your favorite rose. She

is surrounded by many thorns

who whisper everywhere.

In tending her, do take care.

I enjoyed the dream and

hope you will to.
